Bonus Point

What we really liked about this pop-up is that despite of the long queue, the staff don’t let it overcrowded. They let in a number of people at a time and make sure they let the same number of people as those who left the pop-up.
In this way, we had space to discover and enjoy the pop-up and didn’t have to wait much for our coffee and cakes upstairs. We had chairs and table to sit comfortably, take pictures and enjoy our treats.
The pop-up is operating on a queuing system. Simply show up and join the queue.
Please, make sure you dress warm because there will be a long wait. We arrived half an hour before the opening and waited 1.5 hrs in total, but those arrived later than us, waited more.

In the bustling heart of Soho, there is a dramatic goth-inspired cocktail bar with moody interior and a hidden, intimate basement bar. Thirteen LDN is the newest addition to the rock’n’roll inspired hotel, Chateau Denmark.
???? [BLOG POST IN BIO] Goth-inspired bar in Soho ???? ????????????♂️ In the bustling heart of Soho, there is a dramatic goth-inspired cocktail bar with moody interior: Thirteen LDN ???? In the basement, there is another hidden bar, called Dial8 #hiddengems#bestbars#goth#gothbar#cocktail#bar#weekendplans#weekendvibes#CapCut
Opened in February 2023, Thirteen LDN is a gothic opulence with its bold and brave interior with rich baroque elements.
In the centre of the bar, a huge teal chesterfield conversation chair is towering over the leather stools and the black and white striped flooring with its deep buttoning and large comfortable seats.
Beaming golden light cascading from the gothic lamp from the top of the chair to create the perfect ambiance. The lamp is decorated with two gothic metal dragon statues as their chasing each other.
Red, black, and teal colours dominate the place, while the bar counter is floating in glimmering golden light as it was a gateway to another world.

An oversized crimson designer sofa dominating the space at the large window. Its arms curving into themselves, reminding me to Tim Burton movies.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Hidden right next to the bar counter, there is a private space with a large sofa that looks like an organ, lit mysteriously by a leaf-shaped prism lamp hanging from the red ceiling. If you want more privacy, heavy red curtains are hanging from both sides that you can use as space divider.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
The curtains on the large windows are made of metal chains, and if you look closer, you will recognise pictures of human faces painted on them.
Dial8

Dial8 is an intimate basement bar located right under Thirteen LDN with a capacity of 60 guests. Perfect for meetings, gatherings, and private events.
Dial8 has a discreet separate entrance on Flitcroft Street for gatherings that require exclusivity.
The dominant colours here are orange and black. Long black velvet sofas are stretching along the walls while the black shelves above are decorated with orange glass spheres making guests feel like they were in the mysterious den of a fortune-teller.
The Menu
Photo: Urban Adventurer
The drinks menu takes inspiration from the area’s rich history.
Denmark Street was once known for being home of music publishers and recording studios where such legends like David Bowie, Black Sabbath and the Sex Pistols would be frequent visitors, some of them even recorded and rehearsed there.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Try one of the bars’ signature cocktails, such as ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ (Martini Riserva Speciale Rubino, Aperol, Watermelon Liqueur, Rhubarb bitters, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut NV), ‘Soho’ (WhistlePig PiggyBack 6yo Rye, Martini Riserva Speciale Rubino, Peach Liqueur, Maraschino Cherry Liqueur, Peychaud bitters) or ‘Rocknroller’ (Bacardi Reserva 8 yo Rum, Amaretto Disaronno, Pineapple, Angostura bitters, Citrus, Double Dutch Ginger Beer).
Classic cocktails include Margarita, Espresso Martini, Aviation, Old Fashioned, and plenty more.
In the 1930s – thanks to the number of Japanese businesses there – the area was known as Little Tokyo.
The bars’ food menu is paying tribute to Tin Pan Alley’s legacy by offering Japanese-inspired bites, such as Poké Bowls, inside out sushi rolls, gyoza and Japanese desserts.

Shortly after their grand opening, Naked Soho had to close temporary because locals kept knocking on their doors, asking to cover the adult artworks, genital sharing platters and penis bowls visible from the streets to ‘protect’ people. Even Westminster City Council visited the restaurant after the complaints.
Naked Soho spent days to figure out how to cover their windows while preserving the restaurant’s original theme, and they ended up with a very creative idea.

If I say Cadbury, you most likely say diary milk chocolate. Would you believe if I said the UK’s favourite chocolate maker, known for its smooth milky chocolate bars, opened a vegan pop-up store?
Cadbury opened a unique vegan pop-up shop in Soho on the 22nd March and will be there for 5 days only.
Cadbury’s ‘Mean Tweet Shop’ is open from 12pm-6pm daily from 22-26 March and greets every customer by a free vegan Cadbury Plant Bar.
The shop is dedicated to fight against mean tweets about vegan chocolate on Twitter by letting visitors taste and learn more about Cadbury’s new vegan Plant Bars.
Led by high demand (in 2019 28% of participants voted for Cadbury’s Diary Milk as a brand they wanted to see ‘veganized’ the most), Cadbury released two vegan flavours: Smooth Chocolate and Salted Caramel towards the end of 2021.
Tree of Positivity
Photo: Urban Adventurer
To help “turning plant-based hate into plant-based love” visitors are encouraged to visit the Tree of Positivity within the shop, find white cards with negative tweets hanging on the tree and swap them to purple cards with positive quotes.
The white cards contain plant seeds to be brought home and plant in soil to “help grow plant-based love.”
Swapping Diary Milk for Almond Paste
Photo: Urban Adventurer
The demand for vegan chocolate is huge and it seems Cadbury is fallen behind its competitors.
Nestlé, for example launched their diary free KitKat bar (called ‘KitKat V’) last Summer, while Harrods jumped in this year’s Veganuary challenge by launching unique vegan pastry, named ‘Dawn of a New Day’ and a vegan chocolate bar, named ‘Every Cloud has a Silver Lining’.
Cadbury apologised for making their customers wait for so long and for all the other chocolate their customers had to eat while wait. Their new vegan bars are made of almond paste instead of diary milk and they hope you’ll agree it was worth the wait.
Ready for your next adventure? Heddon Yokocho teamed up with The King of Monsters for this March and launched their Godzilla themed menu (Godzilla sized Ramen bowl, themed drink and dessert) for £22. Vegan options available.
