Traditional Chinese hotpot experience with a modern twist. Located in Chinatown London, Nan Hotpot is a modern Chinese restaurant with vintage-style interior, wooden benches, and antique signs offering Sichuan-style hotpots and modern, creative desserts.
Hotpot
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Nan Hotpot takes pride on their authentic Chinese hotpot dining experience and its insane shaved ice desserts that are the best in town.
If you’re new to hotpot experience, hotpot is a huge bubbling pot with two or three different broths of your choice and a lot of raw ingredients that you cook for yourself.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
You can choose from a long list of ingredients, including vegetables, thinly sliced meat, seafood, noodles, mushrooms, tofu, egg and even skewers.
It’s a very interactive and fun experience and you can cook your ingredients as long as you wish, so they will be exactly how you like them.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
We ordered the trio soup: tomato, mushroom and Guizhou which is an aromatic hot-and-sour soup base.
We chose a variety of ingredients from meat to seafood to vegetable, including double chilli tender chicken, crab sticks, black fungus, Enoki mushroom, gong choi, lotus slices, tong-ho and meatballs.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
We also tried the Oolong milk tea which was five-star!
Unlimited Dipping Sauces
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Your hotpot comes with unlimited access to the dipping station where you can pick and mix any sauces you wish. Simply, grab a dipping bowl and start mixing.
If you need inspiration, a chart helps you what to mix to get the most satisfying result. Once your mix is ready, bring it to your table and dip your bites into it or pour it on the top of your noodles.
Our go to sauces are sesame paste, garlic, and soy sauce.
Viral Dessers
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Make sure you leave room for dessert because Nan Hotpot’s viral shaved ice dessert is the best (and the TALLEST) in town.
There are over 10 different flavours to choose from, customisable and they even contain popping boba, biscuits and jelly!
The Mango Royale Snowflake Ice was heavenly delicious.
Photo: urban Adventurer
We also ordered the Taro & Ube Ice Mountain. It came with extra Taro sauce and there were lots of sweet crunchy bits, popping boba and jelly inside. It’s a HUGE sharing dessert, so make sure you leave room for it.
Nan Hotpot is the only one in Chinatown open till 3am. Perfect spot after a night out with friends.

Photo: Urban Adventurer
Located on Tottenham Court Road, The Top Hat Bar and Restaurant serves a whole menu of food and drinks inspired by your childhood favourite board game.

Photo: Urban Adventurer
The menu looks like playing cards and each signature cocktail is inspired by one of London iconic venues. Not only that, but the menu also tells you what or who exactly inspired that cocktail, so you also have the chance to learn interesting facts about London’s history.
‘London’s Kings Cross Station’ cocktail
Photo: Urban Adventurer
‘London’s Kings Cross Station’, for example, is a salted caramel flavoured cocktail topped with cream and served in a glass ice cream cone. It’s inspired by Swiss entrepreneur, Carlo Gatti, who made ice cream accessible to the Victorian public. One of his original wells still exists near Kings Cross Station. This cocktail is available in alcohol free version.
‘The Strand’ cocktail
Photo: Urban Adventurer
‘The Strand’ is a refreshing blend of raspberry, cucumber and elderflower boozy iced tea. This cocktail is served in a disco ball and inspired by the first Twinings Tea Shop which opened on the Strand in 1719. Author of Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen often visited the shop whenever she was in London to visit her brother, Henry.
‘Fleet Street’ cocktail
Photo: Urban Adventurer
‘Fleet Street’ is a black ink dark cherry Martini, that pays homage to the famous Fleet Street which has been regarded as the heart of British printing and publishing since the 16th century. And – of course – notorious for the murderer barber, Sweeny Todd.
The cocktail comes with an ink bottle that you need to open and pour the (dr)ink into your glass yourself.
Craving something simpler?
Classic cocktails, soft drinks and a selection of wine and beer are also available to wet your throat during your visit.
The food menu is just as creative as the cocktail menu.
Go big with ‘The Cash Cow’ beef burger, stuffed with smoked streaky bacon, melted mature cheese, tomato, pickle, lettuce and onion, served with skin-on chips in a metal boot? Not a fan of beef? Switch to vegan patty!
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Boost your energy with ‘The High Flyer’ chicken burger, seved with trimmings of marinated chicken, rainbow slaw, chipotle mayo and skin-on chips.
Craving something lighter? ‘The Jailbird’ is a house Cesar Salad with roasted chicken breast, sourdough croutons, and house Cesar dressing.
Not starving but want some nibbles?
Choose ‘The Banker’s Share’ if you’re with company. It’s baked Camembert with warm baked bread and chutney.
‘Roll with’ some curried sausage rolls with chutney, ‘Deep Dive’ into some crispy calamari and Aleppo chilli served with homemade tartar sauce or celebrate your ‘Sweet Victory’ with corn ribs with house salsa and plant based feta.
Make sure you leave space for ‘Mr Monopoly’s Millionaire Cheesecake’, ‘The Prize Brownie’ or ‘The Top Hat Finest Eton Mess’ at the end of your dinner.
The Interior
Photo: Urban Adventurer
The interior perfectly suits to a winner of the Monopoly game. Expect marble bar, petrol blue furnishing, golden lighting and golden upholstered red booths.
Photo: Urban Adventurer
Notice the reclaimed fabric from Piccadilly and Northern lines seatings.

There are also a wide range of board games available to play for free during your visit. Perfect for families with younger kids to keep them entertained while waiting for their food.
