Water Lantern Festival was first introduced in London last October. Following its huge success, the festival is now returning to the city, this time for three evenings and at two different locations.
Inspired by the otherworldly Chiang Mai lantern festival in Thailand, the London version is just as magical.
This enchanting experience is a worldwide success, loved by over 500K visitors across 50+ cities around the globe.

The festival is created to be enjoyed by families with children of all ages, friends groups, couples, and even solo adventurers.
There are plenty of activities for kids and adults, live music, and food vendors available throughout the 4-hour experience.

The experience transforms Danson Park and Clapham Common into a relaxing space that encourage visitors to slow down, relax and connect.
Your ticket includes a lantern kit, presented in a beautiful souvenir string bag.
The bag contains a lantern assemble kit, a marker to decorate and personalise your lantern, a LED tealight to illuminate it when the time comes, an entry wristband and playing cards. If you purchased a ‘Couple Package’, you’ll also receive a picnic blanket, so all you need to do is to find the perfect spot and settle down.
Eat, Drink and Relax

Forget the hustle and bustle of the city, set your blanket at the bank of the lake and enjoy relaxing live music all evening.
Local vendors will offer a good variety of your favourite street food (vegan & gluten free options available) and drinks to clink you glasses over your personalised lanterns.
There will be ‘open mic’ moments, where anyone can step up, say thank you for their loved ones or share heart-warming personal stories.

Once you’ve received your lantern pack, all you need to do is find the perfect spot, settle down, grab some food and drink, decorate your lantern and assemble it by the time you’re called to set it afloat on the lake with hundreds of other lanterns.
Watch your lantern join the others as they form an enchanting illuminating trail as the water calmly reflects their light back like an ethereal path to another magical world.
Commitment to the Planet

Water Lantern Festival London is following a ‘leave no trace’ philosophy.
That means, the lanterns are 100% sustainable: made from biodegradable rice papers and wooden bases. After the event, all the lanterns will be collected from the lake, and the LED candles will be reused and recycled to reduce environmental footprint.

The festival kindly asks their visitors to help protect the environment by leaving no personal waste, using the recycling stations and making sure they don’t leave rubbish in green areas or near the water.
