POP Playrooms is the only playroom with pop music-inspired mini golf in London. There are nine immersive crazy golf holes inspired by the most iconic pop music videos. Think Miley Cyrus, The White Stripes and Cardi B.

Play darts with a twist! Pop Playrooms’ high-tech darts games allow you to choose from different themes that come alive on the board. Choose your skill level (easy, mid-level or hard) and let the auto scoring calculate your points. All you have to do is to enjoy the game between two sips from your music-inspired cocktail or shake.

Glide, slide, and score! Smart Shuffle is one of the most competitive games at POP Playrooms. Choose from the many different games and collect (or lose) points by knocking each other’s disks off or see who can send their disk to the farthest without falling off the other end.

Play to lose? Beer Pong is probably the only game you want to lose. Toss a ping pong ball into your opponent’s drink. If the ball lands in their drink, they have to drink it down. The winner is the team that eliminates all the opponents’ cups first.

Reunite the squad around a premium American Pool table and make a friendly competition while sipping a cocktail, mocktail or beer before heading to the photo booth to take fun pictures as keepsakes to commemorate the day. Kitsch Living Room Bar with Quirky Cocktails – Little Nan’s Bar

I think, we can confidently say that Little Nan’s Bar is one of London’s quirkiest bars.

The bar was set up in honour of the founder’s – Tristan Scutt, referring himself as Grandson Tristan – beloved late grandmother (hence the name) who passed away at the age of 103 (!).

The bar is filled with her eclectic furniture and ornaments, turning the place into a cosy kitsch living room.

Think of leopard print, cuddly oversized soft toys, neon signs and the most eclectic memorabilia collection form the glorious 80s and 90s.

To make sure you fully soak into the Little Nan’s experience, they offer prop boxes full of free-to-wear wigs, hats, funny masks and glasses.

Little Nan’s Bar has the craziest menu ever! It contains over 100 (!) cocktails and hand-written by Grandson Tristan.

To add the quirkiness, many of the cocktails are named after loyal regular customers, Nan’s favourite celebrities, and soap stars, including Queen Pat Butcher (actress Pam St Clement who played Pat Butcher in EastEnders has actually visited the bar).

The Oscar Winning Designer Behind Aunties Ballroom

Little Nan’s Bar 2.0 recently opened their private hire room, called Aunties Ballroom. The Ballroom is located right next to the bar and can accommodate up to 90 guests or up to 75 seated guests for shows or gigs.

And here’s the twist you will not believe: Aunties Ballroom has been designed by an Oscar winning artist!

That’s right! Grandson Matt designed and made all the fabric you can see inside Aunties Ballroom, along with the light up signs, the disco anchor and the Giant Nan’s face curtain at the entrance of the bar.

Matt’s team have won the Oscar for the Best Set Design & Best Production Design for the Wicked film in 2025!

Matt regularly works for the biggest films and series, including Bridgerton, Thor: The Dark World, Downtown Abbey, The Batman, Mission Impossible, Cinderella and the list goes on.

As Deptford and its community have always had a special place in Little Nan’s grandsons’ hearts, they want to serve and spoil the people they love so much with free private hire event spaces.

Located under the railway arches just a few minutes walk from Deptford station, Little Nan’s Bar 2.0 is the sister bar of Little Nan’s which is right next to the station.

Little Nan’s Bar is a multi award winning (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to see all the awards they have received over the years) bar, first launched in 2013, however, forced to close the following year.

The next three years they travelled across London doing pop-ups which were huge success before finally returning to Deptford and settling in a vacant arch in Deptford Market Yard.

In 2024, they almost closed again (due to some landlord drama), so they launched Little Nan’s Bar 2.0, just 5-minutes walk from the original bar. Soon, however, the landlord asked them to stay, so here they are with two venues just a few minutes walking distance between one another.

In 2024, they also opened their new whimsical Air BnB holiday home in Weymouth: Little Nan’s Weymouth Holiday Home which was a roaring success. Little Nan’s Weymouth Holiday Home was featured in The Sunday Times as the “UK’s Most OTT Air BnB” as well as in numerous other magazines, and Tristan, the founder, even gave interview to BBC Radio.

Being a Pan-Asian restaurant, NOYA London cannot settle for just one country. Although, the menu is heavily inspired by traditional Japanese cuisine, NOYA is offering the diverse and rich taste of all the different Asian countries.

What is a Pan-Asian restaurant?

While an Asian restaurant is focusing on the cuisine of a certain country or style, Pan-Asian restaurants are a fusion of all the Asian countries. The dishes are crafted and served using different methods, styles and ingredients from the most different locations with the aim to create innovative dishes and inventive flavour combinations never existed before while harmonising the flavours and respecting their origins.

NOYA London’s main menu includes sushi, Robata grill, sharing platters as well as side dishes.

NOYA Maki Specials are the perfect example of a Pan-Asian restaurant’s menu. The ‘NOYA Special Lamb Maki’ for example, is a flavourful combination of Katsu Lamb, Korean glaze, sweet mayo and Aonori powder, while the ‘Crispy Crab Maki’ is an adventurous marriage of Japanese and Korean flavours.

The Rhum Tavern – “A modern love story of Rum, in an old world setting”

Ahoy mateys! Opened in September 2024, The Rhum Tavern is a cocktail bar celebrating the diversity of rum and merging all the fictional and non-fictional stories about the golden age of Piracy in the 1650s.

The vessel is anchored on Margaret Street, just north of Oxford Circus and the inside looks like a hull of a 17^th-century clipper.

Hollow barrels and wooden crates are stacked on the top of each other, each carrying bottles of Rum, coconut shells, skull-shaped glasses and candles. Ship lanterns and large candles add to the atmosphere.

You can find the pirates’ lost treasure buried bunder the long resin bar cast with shimmering gold doubloons, and witness salt beef being grilled on the cooking station.

Aye aye, Captain!

Your captain will be industry veteran Gabriel De Verde (founder of The Rhum Tavern and former mixologist and general manager at Sketch and Mr Fogg’s) who promises an unforgettable adventure to explore the vast Rum offers (over 400 different Rum from across the globe!)

The interior and the glassware have been envisioned and meticulously built and handcrafted by De Verde himself.

On the menu you will find Grilled Salt Beef which is a variation of brined beef that was available in the pirate ships of old; Grilled Corn Ribs which crisped up with some light spice and house sauce; Baby Back Ribs grilled to perfection with a homemade Rum glaze and Charcoal Casava that has been boiled in soy sauce and a mixture of spices before being dried out and grilled to perfection.

We were invited for a VIP Halloween launch party where we had the opportunity to revitalise our souls with their new Halloween-themed cocktails and fully immerse ourselves into their Halloween experiences with live actors and incredible sets.

‘Kiss the Frog’ Cocktail

Upon our arrival we were greeted by an evil bunny and a welcome cocktail, called ‘Kiss a Frog’. It was a glittery green concoction of Midori, St Germain, Watermelon Syrup, Blue Curacao and Prosecco, garnished with a green gummy frog.

Stepping inside the venue, we found ourselves surrounded by gorgeous stonework that stretched from floor to ceiling. The swirling red and black floor made us feel we were walking on hot lava in the Purgatory.

The heavy stone arches at the bar area were lit by red and purple lights to provide the perfect backdrop for our devilish brews.

There were six cocktails to try, each inspired by fallen angels, the Purgatory and demons.

‘Spider Eggs’ Cocktail

‘Spider Eggs’ was a sinful brew of Dragon fruit Vodka, St Germain, Raspberry Syrup, Lemon Juice & Lichee Juice. It was served with a stack of smoked-filled bubbles.

‘The Devour Sour’ Cocktail

‘The Devour Sour’ was a tempting poison of Wild Turkey 81, Disaronno Lemon, Sugar, Red Vine & Vegan Foamer. It was served with a syringe to inject the red vine into your blend yourself.

‘Darkness’ Cocktail

‘Darkness’ was designed to lead us into the dark side with the swirling Blue Curaco mixed with Whitley Neill Raspberry Gin, Chambord, Lemon Juice and Raspberry Syrup.

‘PB Old Fashioned’ was a blend of Wild Turkey 81, Demerara Syrup & Orange Bitters and was served in a crystal dome filled with cherrywood smoke.

‘Fallen Angel’ was an alluring mixture of Dragon fruit-infused Sapling Vodka, Aperol, Lemon, Orange & Mango, served with smoke-filled bubble.

The special Halloween décor and the live actors were incredible. They made sure to make us jump out of our skin every minute.

At one point, I found myself being hunted by a red-eyed demon who was wearing chains around his neck. A few minutes later I spotted a hairy hand crawling on the lava floor by itself. Nobody dared to sit next to the black-winged fallen angel because we never knew when she would scare us to death.

Retro Arcade Games – Four Quarters Bar

If you’re old enough to have had a chance to play with old school arcade games as a child, you probably have heart-warming nostalgia on how the neon screens of the games were glowing in the dim, the excitement you felt when inserting a coin into one of the machines and start playing, and the feeling of triumph when you won.

If warmth just went through your body and wish you could go back in time to re-experience those times, you will love Four Quarters Bar.

Four Quarters Bar has three venues in London full of the coolest retro games we all remember from our childhood.

Their venue in Hackney Wick is in a lovely location of the canal side and has 20 original arcade cabinets, all perfectly restored. You can also hire a private booth with private PlayStation, Nintendo or SEGA to bottle with the gang. There are tons of retro games to choose from while you enjoy a house cocktail or a cold beer with a slice of cheesy pizza.

Situating in Peckham on Rye Lane, this venue was London’s first arcade bar when it opened its doors in 2014.

They have 15 restored arcade cabinets from the late 70s to the early 2000s within the bar. Street Fighter, Asteroids, Tetris, MS Pac Man and the list goes on. There is something for everyone.

They regularly host live DJ events, live music, and comedy to provide further entertainment to enjoy between two bottles.

A hidden basement club space with 10 retro consoles is available for private hire.

Craft beers, cocktails and pizza are available all day and night to keep your fuelled.

Four Quarters Bar’s newest venue is opening this August at Elephant & Castle. Once they are open there will be 30 lovingly restored original arcade machines and pinball available to play along with 2 projector screen gaming setups with 4 internal and 4 external private console booths.

Craft beers, cocktails and classic dinner of hamburger, pizza, loaded fries and hot dog will be served.

All of the arcade machines run on US quarters that can be purchased at the till. Most of the games run with one coin, but some deluxe and pinball machines run with two coins.

You can exchange £1 to 4 US quarters or 50p to 2 US quarters. If you happen to bring your own quarters, you can use them too!

London’s Quirkiest Cocktail Bar

Once Upon a Time…

Entering TSQ Playhouse’s door is like entering into a magical rabbit hole in a dreamy fairy tale: you instantly find yourself in a corridor of mirrors from where you sink into a mystical black and white world of projected twisted shapes and cubes.

And the Journey Begins…

“Well my friends the time has come. Raise your glass and have some fun.”

Velvet thrones, carousel horses, crystal chandeliers imprisoned in iron cages, a hot air balloon wall and a jungle bar counter. That’s what welcomes you in this magical adult playground.

Enchanted Cocktails

To begin your magical journey, you can choose from 5 different fairy tale themed cocktail menus: Virgin Island, King’s Carnival, Enchanted Forest, Aquaria and Cloud 9.

Now, just let your heart decide. Because whichever cocktails you pick, you won’t regret it.

Bon Voyage! Up up and above. This cocktail with a real hot air balloon will take you to the Moon and beyond. Bon Voyage is a sweet and airy blend of melon liqueur, kiwi, blueberry, passion fruit and lemonade.

The King’s library is now open! Book of Moron is part of the King’s Carnival menu. But be warned fellas! This book will trick you. Book of Moron is a funny blend of three different rums, vermouth and aromatic bitter.

If you had Three Wishes what would they be? Grab Aladdin’s magic lamp and rub it. Even if the Genie doesn’t not appear, some cocktail definitely will.

Kings and Queens

Two thrones – a black and a red – are waiting for the Kings and Queens of the night to rule the Cocktail Realm. Grab the golden tiara from the bar counter and live your dreams tonight.

Up and round. Ride on one of the enchanted carousel horses and touch the stars.

4 Cocktail Bars from Hell in London

I visited 4 killing cocktail bars from Hell.

Opium

Located on one of the crowded passages, China Town Opium Bar can be found only by those who know what to look for. A small jade door and a tiny metal board with the bar’s name on it. That’s all that advertises this hidden bar’s existence.

On entering the building, a long, mysterious, red-lit wooden staircase leads you up to the 3 different themed sections of Opium bar, and each section has its own signature cocktail menu.

Apothecary Bar

Located on the second floor, Apothecary bar is decorated with medical bottles and has Feng Shui themed cocktail menu. On each table, there is a round wooden Feng Shui plate showing the cocktail menu representing wealth, health, wisdom, career, travelling, creativity, marriage and fame.

Red Chinese lampions, old framed photos, bamboo and ornamental walls make this small intimate place more peculiar.

Here I decided to try two of the most bizarre Opium signature cocktails that are definitely from Hell:

Opium No. 7 which comes in a small cauldron with dried ice.

Devil Doctor, a killing flaming cocktail with a sugar cube on top, sprayed with absinthe.

Academy Bar

Located on the top floor, Academy Bar has lower coffee tables, large armchairs, illuminating candles and pale lamps to create a mystic shadowy atmosphere.

The walls are covered with old photos of once-living Chinese inhabitants and beautiful carved wooden decorations give a perfect backdrop for your signature cocktail.

The cocktail menu focuses on Asian cooking style and flavours. Here, beside the Academy signature cocktails, you can find low alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails.

During my visit to Academy Bar, I decided for a mocktail that comes with Gyokuro tea, lemon thyme cordial and lemon sour jelly. It was called Duminda.

Peony Bar

This is the smallest and most intimate section of Opium. Located on the second floor, the cocktails here focus on major cities of China, such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing or Lhasa. The menu itself is a map that shows us the locations of these influential cities and gives us interesting information about them.

Booking a table in advance is highly recommended, however, they accept limited number of walk-ins.

Murder Inc.

Hidden in a narrow alley just off Oxford Street, Murder Inc. leads you to Highway to Hell. Literally.

They have creative house specialities and themed killer cocktail menus, such as Speedballers, Hight Street Hustlers, Bad to the Bone and Naughty Li’l Buggers. Oh, and if you want to commit a cocktail crime with something not on the list, they are happy to become your accomplice.

The place itself is tiny but well designed and creates a murderously unique atmosphere. There is a tiny hidden private place sunken into the wall for those want to be totally isolated; a round table for bigger gangs and additional seats with wall-to-wall sofas.

Here, there are two old large mirrors on the two sides, reflecting a rusty brown parallel reality. (Goosebumps…)

You don’t need to book a table, just walk in and commit your cocktail crime.

Eve Bar

“Resist Everything except temptation.” This is what welcomes visitors at the entrance. The entrance is uniquely decorated with books and red apples, representing Eve’s Biblical temptation to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge.

In the bar, under the dim light, you find yourself in the mystical world of Eve the tempted sinner.

Surrounded by twigs, books and apples, and two large painted glass windows of Adam and Eve, you will definitely not be able to resist temptation for one of Eve Bar’s signature cocktails, such as Adam’s Apple that comes with apple oil and cherry bark.

“I feel very adventurous. There are so many doors to be opened and I’m not afraid to look behind them.”

Advanced booking is recommended; however, Eve Bar is happy to serve walk-inners.

Cereal Killer Café

Walking through a corridor of mirrors, you will find yourself in a cereal asylum with iron beds and a framed picture of Hannibal Lecter, made from cereals.

Although Cereal Killer is a café not a bar, you probably did not know that they serve killing cocktails with cereal at their Brick Lane shop.

I went for the weirdest and definitely the most Instagrammable one: Loopy Froot cocktail with froot loop gin, elderflower syrup, apple juice, blue curacao and topped with rainbow cereal. It was total madness.

Book a table in advance or just walk in as I did. Your choice.

The Coolest Bar in Town – ICEBAR Experience

ICEBAR in London? Cool!

London’s only one ice bar is hidden at the end of a tiny little lovely passage called Heddon Street (it’s more like a passage than a street) just off Regent Street, not too far from Piccadilly. ICEBAR gives formula we need in this hot weather: (sub-zero weather * ice sculptures)+bar²=perfect refreshing experience

How to Book Your ICEBAR Experience?

You have to book your ICEBAR experience online in advance. Tickets start from £13.50 and include:

ICEBAR entry
A pair of gloves
A cape to keep you warm
Your first cocktail served in an ice glass (if you want to try more cocktails or need another ice glass, you have to pay for them)

How ICEBAR Experience Works?

On your arrival you show and get scanned your ticket at the doors. Then you have to wait in the ground level bar for all the people to arrive who booked the same session as you. While you wait feel free to order a drink.

Once everyone has arrived, you go downstairs and get your pair of gloves and your hooded cape. The staff help you put your cape on.

TIP: even if it’s hot outside, it’s wise to bring some warm clothes with you and put them on before entering the ICEBAR as the temperature is below zero there.

Once you have entered the bar you can start exploring it or go straight to the bar to choose your first cocktail.

The ICEBAR Session

There are 40-minute sessions (you can leave the bar earlier if you’re too cold) allowing you to enjoy as many colourful cocktails as you like, discover and enjoy the magnificent ice sculptures and take as many photos for your Instagram feed as you can.

The spectacular ice sculptures are lit with changing colour led lamps to boost experience. The whole place is very interactive: you can touch the sculptures and pose with them. There is something new to discover in every corner.

Different Themes Every Year

The ice sculptures are around different themes in every year. Themes are change every May. This year’s theme is ‘Valhalla’ or Viking’s paradise, and one of the most spectacular sculpture is Thor’s hammer.

ICEBAR has given me a very unique experience, especially because it was one of my dreams to visit an ice bar some time and drink from and ice glass. In spite of the fact, that the place was a bit crowded I still lived every minute I spent there and would recommend it to everyone.

If you’re a child at heart – and even if you’re not – Ballie Ballerson is a must-go place to celebrate birthday, make up, break up or simply, life. Ballie Ballerson is an adult only ball pit and cocktail bar in Shoreditch and they take it serious with their ‘no ID no entry policy’.

Every ticket includes a 2 hours unlimited access to 2 ball pits to indulge the inner child and fill in your Instagram feed.

The Glowing Ball Pit

Go through a neon jungle of colours to reach the signature glowing ball pit filled with thousands of transparent balls lit by the coolest ever-changing coloured lights. The ball pit is caged in mirror walls and ceiling to make it a perfect Instagram backdrop.

The Pink Ball Pit

The pink ball pit is a themed ball pit (was originally introduced for Valentine’s Day) with a romantic quote wall and roses and hears hanging from the ceiling. The ball pit is filled with pink balls and visible from the street so…hey…smile!

Glow-in-the-Dark Mural and Cocktails Inspired by Retro Sweets

In the cocktail bar the dance floor, a glow-in-the-dark mural and a flower wall are waiting for you to pose in front of them and shoot your coolest Instagram photos ever.

The sweet tooth cocktail menu is inspired by retro sweets like Skittles, Dip Dab and Hubba Bubba.

I ordered a delicious Skittle Sour and an The Espresso Flames Martini. The Skittle Sour cocktail is served with a mini bag of colourful Skittles clipped on the edge of the glass. How cute!

The Espresso Flames Martini is literary made in flames. It’s an espresso with a hint of chocolate, a lotta vodka and served lit AF.

Tickets to Ballie Ballerson

General entry tickets start from £7.50 offering access to the two quirky ball pits and the stylish bar. VIP packages start from £15 and you will have a ballie table at the VIP area and access to the glowing ball pit and the pink ball pit as well as to the VIP ball pit shared with other VIP guests.

Ballie Ballerson tends to be very busy especially at the weekends, so it’s wise to book your ticket in advance online.

Visit with Friends or By Yourself

Whether you have a company to go with or you are a lone wolf, you will definitely love your ball pit experience. I bet you will end up with some new friends too. Just don’t forget to bring your ID with you.
