The Rhum Tavern – “A modern love story of Rum, in an old world setting”

Ahoy mateys! Opened in September 2024, The Rhum Tavern is a cocktail bar celebrating the diversity of rum and merging all the fictional and non-fictional stories about the golden age of Piracy in the 1650s.
The vessel is anchored on Margaret Street, just north of Oxford Circus and the inside looks like a hull of a 17th-century clipper.

Hollow barrels and wooden crates are stacked on the top of each other, each carrying bottles of Rum, coconut shells, skull-shaped glasses and candles. Ship lanterns and large candles add to the atmosphere.
You can find the pirates’ lost treasure buried bunder the long resin bar cast with shimmering gold doubloons, and witness salt beef being grilled on the cooking station.
Aye aye, Captain!

Your captain will be industry veteran Gabriel De Verde (founder of The Rhum Tavern and former mixologist and general manager at Sketch and Mr Fogg’s) who promises an unforgettable adventure to explore the vast Rum offers (over 400 different Rum from across the globe!)
The interior and the glassware have been envisioned and meticulously built and handcrafted by De Verde himself.

All landlubbers and pirates are welcome. Showing up in costume is not essential, however, if you do, the captain might share a bottle of Rum with you.

Sip cocktails out from a skull (fake ones of course), a real coconut shell or set your drink free from the tentacles of the Kraken. Eat edible gold or try a blend that ingredients were taken directly from the journal of Mordaunt from 1682 found at the British Museum.

Sink your teeth into bar food & snacks inspired by the actual provisions from the 17th-century.

On the menu you will find Grilled Salt Beef which is a variation of brined beef that was available in the pirate ships of old; Grilled Corn Ribs which crisped up with some light spice and house sauce; Baby Back Ribs grilled to perfection with a homemade Rum glaze and Charcoal Casava that has been boiled in soy sauce and a mixture of spices before being dried out and grilled to perfection.
Why is the rum gone?

The Staff at The Rhum Tavern understand that sometimes even pirates need to remain clear headed. That’s why they offer a couple of non-alcoholic blends that carry all the lashings of a good booze minus the alcohol.
Skull-Shaped Toilets

At The Rhum Tavern, your pirate experience doesn’t stop even when you’re in the bathroom.
Rest your butt on a black skull-shaped porcelain and wash your hands over one of the large wooden buckets before going back to your mateys for another bottle of Rum.
