Toilet Café – The Attendant
So, we’ve had a coffee in The Crypt and cocktails in a ball pit.
How about a breakfast in a toilet now?
The toilet café, The Attendant was built around 1890 in the Victorian era. From 1960 the toilet had been dormant for more than 50 years before the original porcelain urinals gave an inspiration to a creative mind. And here it is: 5-minute walk from Oxford Street, the toilet café is ready to give you a unique experience like never before.
Your Toilet Café Experience
To make customer experience as unique as possible, The Attendant preserved as much as they could from the toilet’s original look, style and colours. As a result, you can walk in through the original wrought iron entrance, walk on the original white and green tiles in the café, and sit to one of the original porcelain urinals to enjoy your breakfast or lunch.
What to expect when arriving: given the place was a men’s toilet before, it’s quite tiny and narrow. You have to wait at the door to be seated to one of the small tables at the porcelain urinals or one of the tables at the banquette at the back.
The Menu
. They have wide variety of seasonal food for breakfast and lunch on their menu or you can choose from the varieties of cold sandwiches, salads and juices. They have coffee specialities for coffee lovers such as chai latte or turmeric latte, and pressed juices and smoothies.
I ordered a bacon brioche with extra cheddar and iced latte. The service was super friendly and quick. The food looked appetising and was just as tasty
I loved my time there. The staff even lent me a pen to write something on their message wall before I left.
