To celebrate the release of their new album, ‘The Mountain’ iconic punk rock band, GORILLAZ, has transformed the basement of luxury clothing shop, Flannels into a GORILLAZ universe.

Once you’ve arrived Flannels’ Oxford Street store, head to the basement (the stairs are on the right-hand side from the entrance) where you’ll find a large-scale, high-end digital display playing stunning audio-visuals and Jamie Hewlett’s hand-drawn world on a monumental scale.

Following a sell-out success through the UK in 2023, Luxmuralis is back to one of London’s most iconic landmarks to transform it into a cosmic wonderland.
The experience begins in the courtyard of the church where visitors can enjoy some food and drink before entering the multi-sensory stellar journey.

Unlike other light paintings, this is a mixture of walk-through and seated experiences.
Visitors are free to explore the show as they walk among the walls of the majestic building, admiring the projections that tells the story of human exploration, our solar system, galaxy and the universe.

The experience starts at the crypt where you will see original footages of the Moon landing. In the next room you’ll literally walk among stars under the arches of the crypt.

The installation is the work of artist, sculpture and the Artistic Director of Luxmurals, Peter Walker, whose projections are often described as the “stained-glass windows of our time” referring to the fact the Walker’s artworks tell stories in the same way stained-glass windows once did for the generations before us.

Canary Wharf Winter Lights is back for 2026 and it’s celebrating its 10th year.
Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival started in 2015 with a few small installations but thanks to the artists and the audience’s commitment to art and culture, the festival soon became one of the most established light festivals in the UK.
Over the years, more than 160 installations were on display and some of them have been purchased to become a permanent piece of Canary Wharf’s collection.
To mark the anniversary, this year has a special theme, called DREAMSCAPE. There are 16 large-scale installations scattered around Canary Wharf for locals and tourists to discover.

An extremely limited-edition A3 poster is also available to purchase in-store at Circle Collective. The print is designed by Anna Lomax and only 500 are available.
DREAMSCAPE invites visitors for a surreal journey to a dream world where you will travel through our solar system, step into another dimension through an ‘Un-Reel Access’, summon spirits and enter a light sanctuary to enjoy a shooting soundscape, atmospheric lights and beautiful colours.
The installations are scattered all around Canary Wharf, so it takes around 2-3 hours to find each and take photos.

Blueprint is more than just an installation. The artists used real genetic data from research into the TLR7 gene by Professor Christian Hedrich’s team and translated that into light and sound. In this way normally invisible biological structures can be seen and heard.

In Bloom is a plant shaped structure inspired by flower pollination.
Visitors are encouraged to touch the sensor on the spheres to activate the flowers and enjoy a beautiful dance of vibrant colours and musical notes.

Trispheric Garden by REELIZE.STUDIO (Australia)

Trispheric Garden is six illuminated pyramid obelisks placed around Cabot Square’s fountain.
The mirror-like orbs each obelisk houses reflect the light casting ethereal patterns on the water’s surface. The installation explores the tension between geometry and fluidity.
Un-Reel Access by KAPPA / Patrick and Kaori Jones (UK / Japan)

Un-Reel Access is a mysterious locked door in front of a wall. Shimmering white light shines around it, while the lower corner of the door curls up.
The door looks like a portal to another dimension making visitors wonder what lies beyond.
Amplitudes by Limbic Cinema (UK)

Amplitudes is a large scale water-screen projection. Animated waveforms are projected to airborne water particles that shift and move with the wind.
The dream-like visuals are synced with relaxing music offering quiet, calm moments for visitors to lose themselves in the otherworldly dance of colours and forms.

The artists are Taya De La Cruz, James Cocran aka Jimmy C, Tom Blackford, Mr Cenz, Sophie Mess and Nicholas Dixon.
You can follow the Yellow Brick Lane from the Banglatown Arch to the area around the Old Truman Brewery and spot beautiful large scale murals featuring Elphaba, Glinda, the flying monkeys, and a pink and green door symbolising the relationship between Glinda and Elphaba.

A Secret Project

The Yellow Brick Lane project has been kept top secret. So much so that the artists didn’t even know what design they would paint until they arrived at Brick Lane or who the other artists were.
The projects had to be done at an extremely short period of time. The street artists had just two days to finish their artworks.
The six artists worked tirelessly to finish on time while a constant rainfall gave them difficult times. Tents and industrial drying machines were used to prevent the paintings from melting and allow them to dry completely.
Mr Cenz’s Futuristic Funky Style Portrait of Elphaba and Glinda

Mr Cenz is known for his futuristic style artworks. He usually paints solo portraits but now he chose to create a dual portrait of Elphaba and Glinda to showcase the contrast between the two characters.

Graffiti artist Tom Blackford wanted to choose less obvious characters from the film.
He chose the flying monkeys because their aesthetic stands close to Blackford’s slightly dark style.
Sophie Mess’s Floral Design

Sophie Messpainted her signature giant florals in 10 shades of pink and green. She painted flowers inspired by the film: tulips and flower fields of Munchkinland. She often incorporates text into her artworks. This time the text says: ‘For Good’ referring to the title of the film.
Nicholas Dixon’s Colliding Circles

Nicholas Dixon paints “what he cannot put into words”. He uses vivid colours to express his deepest feelings.
For this special project, he chose to paint two colliding circles, titled, ‘When Worlds Collide’ with the word ‘Wicked’ in them using typography inspired by the lettering of the original Wicked of Oz film and the first Wicked film from 2024.
The artwork has a strong message: never judge a book by its cover.
(Unfortunately, the mural was partly damaged when we visited, so we can only show part of it)
Jimmy C’s Bubble Glinda

Jimmy C is known for his unique bubble-style artworks. One of his most famous murals is the ‘bubble lady’ in Shoreditch.
As Glinda is famously travels in a giant bubble, it couldn’t have matched more perfectly to his style.

Jimmy also painted Elphaba but in a completely different style. To paint her, he used a so called ‘scribble painting’ technique. Using this technique, the finished portrait gives the impression that the character is very powerful.
Taya De la Cruz’s Pink and Green Doors

Taya De La Cruz uses a very special technique for her artworks. She uses syringes to create the most precise drips of resin and acrylic.
She created two matching doors, one pink and one green, symbolising the special bond between Elphaba and Glinda and how they seek good within each other. The two doors act like a portal to goodness. Who would you become if you opened the doors and stepped in?

All the murals are clearly visible while you’re walking on the Yellow Brick Lane. It’s impossible to miss them.

You can still visit the For Good Tree on any day and time. The Wicked: For Good Tree is a 12-metre tall tree in the centre of The Atrium, inspired by the woods of Oz, celebrating sisterhood and friendship.
Sit in the tree’s beautifully adorned trunk, snap a photo and share your magical moments on social media.

At the tree, you can even message for those who changed your life for good. Simply collect a tag and write down the name of a special someone, or a special place or event that has made a change in your life for good and hang the tag on the tree (Friday – Sunday only).
