After a sold-out run at The Museum of Modern Art in New York in February, A Line Florist has landed at Battersea Power Station for the May half term.

A Line Florist isn’t a typical flower shop. All flowers are hand-drawn featuring bold black marker outline in Anna Bruder’s signature style.

Wander through a 2D black and white blooming wonderland and pick a Daisy, Rose or Lily hand-drawn by the artist.

Each ticket includes a flower of your choice and the opportunity to colour it on the spot.

How it works?

Upon arrival, each guest receives a token that they can exchange for their favourite bloom. Once you’ve got your flower, feel free to take a seat at one of the workshop tables and add it some nice colours and personality.

There are plenty of photo opportunities to capture the perfect moment with your flower. Take a selfie in front of the monochrome flower shelves or Anna’s unique murals.

About Anna Bruder

Anna Bruder is a London-based artist and the founder of A Line Art. She graduated at Central Saint Martins in 2004. She is a talented theatre prop maker who worked for West End musicals and designed and constructed breath-taking sets for The Young Vic, Sadler Wells, and The Southbank Centre.

Since 2011, she has been pursuing her unique design concept and established A Line Art specialising in crafting interactive events and family-friendly musical theatre shows.

A Line Florist is now at Battersea Power Station from 23^rd – 31^st May.

A Line Florist – 48-Hour Online Pop-Up Shop

Anna Bruder is opening an online pop-up shop this June to celebrate the success at the Museum of Art in New York City and Battersea Power Station, London.

The shop is open for 48 hours only, selling extremely limited stock.

From 1pm 13^th June to 10pm 14^th June, you can buy 8 exclusive flower designs, 50 flowers of each design will be available.

The orders will be limited to up to 8 flowers per person, so you can order the whole set if you wish.

You will also have the chance to buy an exclusive colouring pack. The pack includes 3 of Anna’s favourite flower designs and a colouring set. Only 20 colouring pack will be available.

A free immersive pop-up has started today at Outernet London.

As part of Crunchyroll’s annual celebration, Ani-May is celebrating all things anime. This year they’ve partnered with Outernet London to host a free immersive experience.

Visitors have the opportunity to try fun motion games inspired by Crunchyroll’s beloved anime series, such as My Hero Academia, Solo Leveling and Blue Lock.

Visitors to Sistine Chapel in Vatican City can admire the frescoes from an over 20-metre distance, while this exhibition gives audience the opportunity to observe the paintings as close as 2 metres from a never-before-seen perspective where every brushstroke is visible.

The exhibition features a stunning reproduction of 34 frescoes recreated using a special painting technique. All paintings have been reproduced under the licence of the Vatican Museum and transferred onto special fabric webs that allow a true-to-life reproduction.

Mundo Pixar Experience is hosted in an over 3,500 square metres venue in Wembley Park, and it’s the largest Pixar exhibition ever created.

There are 14 immersive rooms to be explored and 27 life-sized characters to meet with.

Each scene is meticulously detailed to look exactly like in your favourite film. To help you immerse into the Pixar universe even more, six bespoke scents have been created, including incense burning in mama Coco’s house (“Coco”), freshly cut grass in Paradise Falls (“Up”) and the breeze of a summer evening in Portorosso (“Luca”).

Dive into the deep blue with Nemo, collect screams with Mike and Sully in the Scare Factory, journey from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Dead, and meet Joy, Sadness, Anxiety and other emotions in the control room in Inside Out.

A Romantic Night Out

This mesmerising open air concert experience turns the night sky into a canvas of light and paint giant hypnotic pictures of planets, flowers, ballerinas and iconic characters from the Harry Potter franchise with hundreds of illuminating drones perfectly synchronised with the music.

‘I Set Out, I Walked Fast’

Katharina Grosse’s new exhibition at White Cube is her first major UK representation since her exhibition at the former Hoxton Square location in 2002.

The exhibition’s title ‘I Set Out, I Walked Fast’ is inspired by Emily Brontë’s novel, Jane Eyre (1847). As Grosse re-read the novel at her New Zealand studio, she struck by Jane’s continuous movement and action as a woman at her time. In the novel nothing stops Jane from constantly moving which propels the storyline forward.

Similarly, Grosse brings her old and new paintings together to create one single interconnected environment, allowing the viewer to travel through time and space.

The exhibition spans through three spaces where the individual works function as ‘plot’ points in a huge web where everything is connected.

In the North Gallery visitors find themselves in the middle of a swirling and spiralling universe of colours. Colours leave the frames of their canvases to pour onto the walls, the columns and even the floor.

Piles of soil create an uneven, unpredictable terrain, painted over with vibrant red, yellow, purple and blue to blend into the beautiful chaos of colours. The parts of the walls and the columns that left white create a sharp contrast with the rainbow dreamlike terrain.

The spray gun allows Grosse to extend her body and reach out to all dimension as far as her eyes can see.

The colours move freely on the different surfaces, connecting canvas and architecture, walls, columns, floor and ceiling. The contours of the objects are not boundaries, instead they’re connections that work as a bridge among objects.

The next room is showcasing a series of new paintings created in Grosse’s New Zealand studio.

During the creation process, Grosse covered one half of the canvases and painted two different pictures that she later blended together by softening the edges between the two.

The paintings are inspired by the dramatic changes of natural elements, rain, burning sun, and the force of wind Grosse experienced while in New Zealand.

The South gallery is showcasing a selection of works from the artist’s archive, including never-before-exhibited landscapes she created 15 years apart or repurposed from previous projects.

Katharina Grosse sees painting as an open system, rather than a predetermined structure. Her works being exhibited at the White Cube were created under different conditions at different periods of the artist’s life. In the gallery, the artworks appear on different surfaces and rooms, yet they are interconnected and in constant negotiation with one another.

The finger sandwiches presented in a golden bird cage is like a carefully composed still life painting, full of temptation.

The smoked salmon makes the perfect pair with the dill cream cheese, making a simple but irresistible joy with the feather light malted grain bread.

St. Ewe’s egg black truffle mayonnaise awakens something within you, you didn’t even know it existed and the Cornish Crab tartlet with Shropshire Blue and brown crab custard crowns the whole experience.

Act II: Beneath the Opera House

Haunting Tales, Gothic Atmosphere and Themed Cocktails – Welcome to the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy

Edgar Allan Poe’s life was just as mysterious as his death.

Poe became an orphan just before his third birthday after his mother died in tuberculosis and his father abandoned the family. In his late teens, Poe lost his foster mother he had had a very close relationship with. Later, he also lost his wife at the age of just 22.

There are periods of Poe’s life that are poorly documented, full of gaps and mysteries, including a period from 1826 – 1833 and his final days.

At the age of 40, Edgar Allan Poe was found at Baltimore nearly unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he drifted in and out of consciousness. He was hallucinating and speaking nonsense when he was awake. An eerie detail is that he was found not wearing his own clothes. Instead of his usual black wool suit, he was wearing an ill-fitting cheap suit and a straw hat.

Edgar Allan Poe died on the 7^th October 1849.

His is famous for his horror stories focusing on paranoia, betrayal, loss, and murder. Some his most famous – and scariest – stories are The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death.

These are the stories that will be taken off the page and one to the stage by Poe historians at the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy.

Glaziers Hall will transform into a darkly elegant Gothic mansion where Poe historians and macabre led mixologists will guide you through a 90-minute journey of dark literature.

Located on the south side of London Bridge, Glaziers Hall offers stunning views to River Themes and the Fishmongers’ Hall. The building is known for its historical significance and Victorian architecture.
