Iconic luxury shopping gallery, Burlington Arcade, opened a James Bond-themed pop-up bar this September. The bar is the first of its kind in the world and will remain open until the end of this year.

James Bond Makeover at Burlington Arcade

Burlington Arcade was built in 1818 by Lord George Cavendish in the heart of Mayfair and 007 brands have been in the Arcade since 1936, including retailers, such as The Royal Mint, N. Peal, Crockett and Globe-Trotter.

Iconic James Bond movie, Goldfinger is celebrating its 60^th anniversary this year, and to celebrate the legacy of Ian Fleming’s secret agent, Burlington Arcade has gone through a total makeover.

A custom carpet covers the whole length of the Arcade, featuring famous lines from the film. Whilst walking on the carpet, make sure you look up to admire the three handcrafted golden sculptures too, inspired by the Aston Martin DB5 made by Leviathan Workshop.

Let’s admit it! Many of us have always wanted to say this line at least once in our lives.

The perfect opportunity is finally here at 007 Bar, and the best part is, the pop-up bar is reserved entirely for walk-ins only.

The bar is serving speciality cocktails created in partnership with the most prestigious brands, including Macallan, Blackwell Rum, Campagne Bollinger and Belvedere.

We ordered ‘The Goldfinger’ cocktail which was a shimmering golden blend made of Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, Coconut & Elderflower Cordial and Elderflower Tonic.

TIP: Make sure you visit the golden bathroom before you leave.

James Bond Memorabilia

To help visitors fully immerse into the James Bond universe, original Bond memorabilia and objects from the movie are on display.

The props on display include the spy hole clock from Goldfinger’s private jet, Goldfinger’s golf shoes, Oddjob’s hat and a Fort Knox gold bar.

The bar even borrowed Madame Tussauds’ wax statue of Sean Connery to give visitors the opportunity to take photos with him.

There are original posters of Goldfinger from all over the world and the 37^th Academy Award for best sound editing (yes, it’s the real Oscar!) is also on display for visitors to admire.

There is also a playable Goldfinger-themed pinball machine downstairs.

Limited-Edition James Bond Merchandise

There is an exclusive shop on the first floor of the pop-up where you have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition framed prints, take a sneak peek at the luxury James Bond 2024 advent calendar, shop jewellery and other official merchandise.

If you’re looking for something extra special, why not bid on a limited number of Macallan 60^th Anniversary Decades whiskey set or purchase a limited-edition Faberge Egg from Faberge’s Octopussy capsule collection?

As Mr Bond is also admired for his watch collection, two wristwatches are on display (these are for display only. Not available for purchase): the Seamaster Diver 300M Commander’s Watch (2017) and the Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond Limited-Edition (2019) to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

These iconic watches are the only James Bond versions to be made in yellow gold.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden has changed their Christmas decoration this year and it’s more magical than ever. Instead of giant baubles, this year gigantic bells and mirror balls decorate Covent Garden Piazza.

Don’t forget to visit the pop-ups and the glorious 60ft (18metres) Christmas tree with over 30,000 twinkling lights.

It’s now a tradition that the historic building of Fortnum & Mason transforms into a gigantic Christmas calendar. Twinkling lights decorate the numbered windows and the whole building is glowing in red light.

One of London’s most famous shopping arcade, Burlington Arcade is dressed for the festive season. This year, all the decorations are natural. All the wreaths and Christmas trees are decorated with dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks and pinecones.

The capital’s most luxurious stores are all decorated with spectacular Christmas lights and window displays. For this festive season, Cartier adorned their façade with an impressive giant red hot air balloon and clouds.

New Bond Street

Whilst you’re there, it’s well worth to take a walk in New Bond Street and admire all the beautiful decorations and see what the luxurious shopping district has to offer.

Plus, this festive season, new tiara-like illuminating decorations adorn New Bond Street as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

When it comes to Christmas lights, Carnaby Street never disappoints us. They come up with the quirkiest installations every year. This year, the theme is the solar system. ‘Carnaby Universe’ features a kaleidoscopic installation featuring neon-lit planets and moons from our solar system.

Regent Street

Regent Street Christmas lights are one of the most famous in London and not without a reason. Magnificent glittering spirits float above the entire length of the street. You’ll surely be able to take that perfect Insta photo here with London’s iconic double-deckers, black cabs and telephone boxes in the background.

London’s most elegant private club is in fully Christmas mode. I giant hot air balloon stretches over the three floors of the historical building. The balloon is accompanied by beautiful glowing stars scattered on the walls.

The installation is a “symbol of hope and inspiration in a year where the world has faced many difficulties and hardships.”

Oxford Street

Oxford Street lights are perhaps the most iconic lights in the city. Tourists and locals flock to take photos of the twinkling stars every Winter. The display is illuminating for a certain amount of time each night before switched off for the rest of the night. This is to ensure the display is as eco-friendly as possible. Also, the decoration is made out of recycled materials.

Ever After Garden

Ever After Garden is the most poignant light installation to visit during the festive period in London. It’s an ocean of illuminating white silk roses, each of them is there to remember loved ones we have lost in cancer.

Visitors can dedicate a rose to a friend or family member they have lost and write a short message to be placed next to one of the roses.

The roses are re-used every year to maintain sustainability, therefore, visitors cannot bring them home.

By dedicating a rose with a donation, you help raise fund for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station opened to the public in October 2022 as a shopping and entertaining centre. Since then, shops, bars, restaurants and a cinema opened within the power station and more to come!

For this festive period the entire power station is gloriously dressed is gold shimmering lights.

Outside, there are giant Christmas bauble decorations, an ice rink, hireable cosy igloos, some food vendors and an immersive gingerbread house experience welcome visitors.

Don’t forget to book your ‘Lift 109 Chimney Lift Experience’ to make a thrilling ascent 109 metres to the top of the chimney of the power station while enjoying immersive light show.
