Christmas at The Last Talisman

I was invited to one of London’s most magical venues, The Last Talisman for their Christmas Showcase. We tried their Christmas cocktails and tasted their amazing Christmas menu. Here’s how it went.

Located near London Bridge Station, The Last Talisman is a beautiful, Asian-inspired restaurant and bar decorated with over-head lanterns, Asian-inspired artworks, mystical dim lights and an amazing cocktail and food menu.

Drinks

‘Talisman Signatures’ contain all your classic favourites with a magical twist.

‘Talisman #1 Bellini’ for example is a refreshing peach, raspberry & vanilla infused cocktail with Prosecco and goji berries, while ‘Wild Horses’ is a powerful blend of Patron Silver Tequila, Mezcal, Ojo de Dios Mezcal, lime, hibiscus syrup, turmeric & cinnamon syrup.

Food

Influenced by the world’s most diverse cultures and cuisines, The Last Talisman serves Asian flavour combinations, such as grilled duck breast, braised octopus salad and Yellowfin Tuna Tostada, made in front of you in an open kitchen.

I was invited to The Last Talisman’s Christmas Showcase event which was taken place in one of their private hire spaces, the Mala Madre.

Mala Madre is an impressive private event space with bamboo chairs and wooden tables, and beautiful Asian-inspired artworks everywhere. It has its own bar and facilities, meaning the guests are completely separated from the other areas of the restaurant.

It has its own projector and DJ equipment, and guests are allowed to bring their own DJ if they want.

Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by friendly staff and a glass of champagne. We had a generous cold buffet to start with, offering a selection of cheese, crackers, fruit, salami roses, mince pies, candy canes, fortune cookies and more.

As the space has its very own bar, bartenders were with us all evening to serve us the delicious Christmas cocktails we were offered to try.

They had four different cocktails:

‘Mistletoe Kiss’ which was a refreshing one with Malfy Blood Orange gin, Fortunella orange liqueur, mulled wine syrup, fresh lime juice and grapefruit soda. Garnished with a piece of blackberry and cranberries.

‘The Nutcracker’ was a bit stronger. It was a blend of Toki Whiskey, Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, chocolate bitters and golden shimmer. Garnished with Kinder Bueno.

‘Snowball’ was one of the most photogenic in my opinion. It was a sweet and perfect mixture of Haku Vodka, white vine, Limoncello lemon liqueur, double cream, lemon juice and gingerbread syrup. The rim of the glass was garnished with coconut flakes.

‘Figgy Pudding’ was a lovely blend of Courvoisier Brandy, cactus liqueur, lemon juice, sugar, and orange bitters.

During the evening samples of the Christmas menu were served. We tried skewers, mini bao, fried chicken, drinks and more.

Thank you very much for The Last Talisman for inviting me this amazing event. I’ve been there multiple times before and they never left me disappointed.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect venue for your Christmas party, look no further. They even provide you your own personal events manager to help from start to finish.
