Look Inside the Human Body

BODY WORLDS: The Anatomy of Happiness lets you look inside the human body. Literally!
Visitors have the rare opportunity to marvel at real human specimen specifically donated to Dr Gunter Von Hangens’ institutes – the anatomist who invented a revolutionary plastination process that preserves the entire human body.

The method was invented by Von Hangens in 1977 and since then over 23,000 willingly donated bodies are used worldwide in medical, dental and veterinary schools. The method creates clean, odourless specimen that let us see inside the human body and discover its complexity.

Visitors of the BODY WORLDS: The Anatomy of Happiness exhibition will be able to see what’s under the skin and discover how our bodies work.
You’ll see our complex nerve system, blood vessels, and even transparent slices that reveal every detail of the human body from the inside.
You’ll see how the different muscles work while the body is doing different movements.

Each plastinate is set up to showcase different positions. There is a figure skating pair, a gymnast frozen in mid-movement, a guitarist and many others to help visitors understand how the different muscles, bones and our whole system work while playing sports and doing other physical activities.
How Emotions Physically Shape Your Body

BODY WORLDS explores how emotions, such as happiness influence our overall health, showcasing the powerful connections between body and mind.
Using the latest medical research, the exhibition reveals which parts of the body are impacted by feelings, like happiness and how different factors, such as stress can play an important part in our overall health.

Stress, for example, can either have positive and negative impact on our system. A small amount of stress can actually help us to perform better, while a significant amount of stress can have a negative impact on our performance and overall health.

There are also interactive displays to help visitors understand more their own body. The ‘Anatomical Mirror’ lets you see where the different organs sit inside your body, how they are positioned and how they function in real-time.
BODY WORLDS: The Anatomy of Happiness is ideal for anybody interested in anatomy or science or just looking to experience something different. The exhibition aims to inspire visitors to choose healthy and sustainable lifestyles by understanding how their bodies work.
