NOW Gallery Fashion Commission 2023: ‘Greetings from Ireland’ by Robyn Lynch
Irish-born menswear fashion designer, Robyn Lynch paints the town green with her new exhibition, ‘Greetings from Ireland’ at NOW Gallery.

Robyn Lynch, who is an Irish-born, London-based menswear designer, launched her exhibition, ‘Greetings from Ireland’ on the 8 December at NOW Gallery.
Following the footsteps of previous exhibitors, Matty Bovan, Nicholas Daley and Mowalola, Lynch has been awarded the NOW Gallery Fashion Commission 2023.
Robyn Lynch has also been the finalist of the prestigious International Woolmark Prize this year.

The monumental castle-like inflatable installation guides visitors through three different areas. Each area represents the different stages of the creative process behind Lynch’s fashion brand. It retrospectively documents the brand’s journey from the very beginning when Lynch was working on a kitchen table to the present day.
At the same time, the installation explores themes around nostalgia, celebrates designer’s Irish heritage and the freedom of expression in an era where smartphones and social media didn’t exist.

The giant inflatable structure was created in collaboration with Irish artist, Rory Mullen, who painted the grinning cartoon characters on it.
Visitors even have a chance to virtually try on Lynch’s garments thanks to an interactive installation in parnership with Kepler. The installation can detect body shapes and movements using motion sensors. This allows to overlay garments onto guests.
