The larger than life Christmas light display is created by legendary studio, Aardman. Aardman is the stop motion animation studio behind Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep and many others.

The short animation was shot using iPhone 16 Pro Max phones.  A total of eight phones were used to capture thousands of photos to be assembled frame by frame to create the Wallace & Gromit stop motion video exclusively designed for Battersea Power Station.

The result is a breath-taking 6K video that merges cutting-edge tech and traditional stop motion technique.

 

The short video is featuring Wallace and Gromit as they are decorating their own giant Christmas trees on the two chimneys of the power station in their own unique styles until when an unexpected intervention occurs that involve the mischievous Feathers McGraw.

 

You can capture the best view of the display from Grosvenor Road, the opposite side of the River Themes.

 

Battersea Power Station’s Virtual Tree Tradition

 

Battersea Power Station started its virtual tree tradition in 2023 when they projected a giant David Hockney animation on the two chimneys on the building’s river-facing side.
