Frieze Sculpture Park 2019 – Regents Park
Regents Park has transformed into a free open-air museum and open till 6th October.
Frieze Sculpture Park is a weird and wonderful sculpture park located in English Gardens of Regents Park and showcases works of outstanding artists: Iván Argote, Ghazaleh Avarzamani, Huma Bhabha, Peter Buggenhout, Jodie Carey, Ma Desheng, Tracey Emin, Lars Fisk, Barry Flanagan, Charlie Godet Thomas, Leiko Ikemura, Robert Indiana, Vik Muniz, Zak Ové, Jaume Plensa, Bettina Pousttchi, Tom Sachs, Lucy Skaer, LR Vandy, Joanna Rajkowska, Tai-Jung Um, Bill Woodrow and Emily Young.
Tom Sachs’s artwork is a recreation of My Melody. This adorable sculpture reminds me of Hello Kitty and other cute Japanese anime characters.
Vic Muniz’s “Mnemonic Vehicle No.2” is a life size reproduction of a 1973 Jaguar. Jaguar was one of Muniz’s favourite childhood toys: a matchbox toy car.
Bill Woodrow’s sculpture is thousands of bees covering a violin.
‘Usagi Kannon II’ by Leiko Ikemura is an interactive rabbit-headed sculpture that allows visitors to climb inside and discover a small universe. “Somebody like a child can have this moment of quietness and full of light.” – Ikemura explains.

Lars Fisk’s “Tudor Ball”. An interesting fact that the thatch was made by a master thatcher, who works in London.
This 4m high construction of vintage British car parts (such as Mini) is made by Zak Ové. The sculpture’s title is “Autonomous Morris” and it gives visitors the mixture of feeling of modern and totemic artwork.
Robert Indiana, “Numbers One Through Zero”. Robert Indiana is best known for his “LOVE” sculpture which is one of the most recognised pop art images in the world. (See Robert Indian’s LOVE sculpture here). An interesting fact that this monumental work is available for sale for US$5.5 million.
Jaume Plensa is a Spanish artist and best known for his sculptures of women’s faces. This large sculpture, “Laura Asia’s Dream”, is made of bronze and it’s thrilling how it looks completely different depending which angle it is viewed from.
“When I Sleep” a recent work by Tracey Emin showcasing a curled woman in her sleep. Tracey’s sculptures mostly focused on themes of feminism, the body, sex, loss, memory, and love.
