Interactive bar famous for being visited by celebrities, Bunga Bunga, closed their doors for a complete overhaul a few months ago. The bar has undergone a complete reimagining and has re-opened this September as London’s boldest multi-sensory bar, Bunga 90.

The original Bunga Bunga was known for its karaoke brunches, metre-long pizzas, crazy cocktails and live shows. Bunga Bunga welcomed A-listers, including Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne and Prince Harry.

Bunga Bunga closed its doors earlier this year and has now returned with a complete transformation.

The bar’s new name is Bunga 90 and it’s a multi-sensory celebration of the 1990s. Think of retro cocktails, arcade games, a PEPSI Time Machine, bathroom rave, Jurassic Park pinball and old school cult ads being played on CRT TVs.

Bunga 90 is officially open from the 18^th September, but if you book between 11^th – 13^th and 16^th – 17^thSeptember, you’ll get 50% off your final bill! Simply go to their website and make your reservation for one of those days.

Your 1990s experience with Bunga 90 starts right on your arrival. The façade of the venue looks exactly like an old-school video rental shop from the 90s stocked with VHS tapes, SEGA Megadrives, and old movie trailers being played on the loop.

Once you’ve taken your selfies here, a PEPSI Time Machine will teleport you back in time right in the glorious neon-soaked 1990s.

Step in and get whisked into an Anglo-American teen’s bedroom. Wall plastered with boy bands posters, fairy lights, dial-up tones and physical photographs.

From here, you’ll reach the actual bar area with pinball machines, free-to-play arcade games, karaoke stage (you can let your inner Ginger Spice out in front of a potential crowd of 300 people!) and retro vibes.

If you’d rather grab the mic and sing your heart out with your bestie, book a private karaoke room (bookings for up to 10 people).

Eight spectacular illuminated artworks are on display inside and outside of Battersea Power Station, some of which might be familiar to those have visited the light festival before.

‘Eternal Sundown’ by Mads Vegas is back for a third year using 140 energy-saving LED tubes reflecting onto the water creating a spectacular artificial sunset.

Studio Vertigo have a fun playful artwork on display: they created a giant rainbow Slinky, while Sergey Kim made and artwork, called ‘Neighbourhood’ which is illuminated laundry hanging above the water.

A 6-metre fluorescent Moon is sitting between the two chimneys of the power station. At night, the moon charges with the energy radiated by the city.

The Light Festival is there to enjoy every day between 19^th January – 5^th March 2023. The installations are switched on from 8am until 11pm (inside the power station until 10pm).

Located in Kensington High Street, Japan House is a cultural home of Japan in London, offering an authentic encounter with Japanese culture, literature, fashion, art, design, gastronomy, pop culture, and more.

They host book exhibitions every year, including manga exhibitions. For example, “This is Manga” exhibition in 2019.

TIP

From 12 April restaurants, cafés, bars, and pubs with outside seating will finally be able to reopen. Yay!

After a long and hard year, we’ll be slowly getting back to normal. To celebrate this, I collected some cool places with outside seating where you can reunite with friends and family.

Barts’ Secret Garden

London’s first speakeasy and worst kept secret bar will be back with a mysterious flower-adorned garden. Psst…this is a secret, but they’ll open the garden on 15 April. Reserve your seat and trip back to the 1920s.

The Knot Churros

The Knot Churros is back to open! From 12 April you can book for outside dining, afternoon tea and brunch again.

Opening Times: Monday – Thursday 12pm – 10pm, Friday – Sunday 12pm – 11pm

Beso

Beso is a must go to restaurant to all The Beatles fans. The Beatles used to regularly eat there while talking about their new songs and taking notes of their newest lyrics.

Inspired by the 1940s, Cahoots is a post-war themed speakeasy bar, located in an abandoned station in Kingly Court. Their outdoor seating area in Ticket Hall will reopen on 12 April for black market cocktails. Make sure you book your table in advance.

Feya Café is undoubtedly one of London’s most Insta-worthy spots (both inside and outside). Beyond that, Feya is a zero-waste brand that gives their food to those in need, while embracing women empowerment and diversity in their cafés.

Their Bond Street café serves on a walk-in basis only; however, you need to reserve your table at their Knightsbridge café. Please, check their website and social feeds beforehand to ensure which of their restaurant is open for outside dining.

Mr Fogg’s

Built back in 1750 The Churchill Arms is one the oldest pubs in London. Did you know that Sir Winston Churchill’s grandparents were regular visitors of the pub in the 1800s?

Today The Churchill Arms is famous for its incredible flower displays that change over the seasons.

The Sherlock Holmes Pub

The Ten Bells

The Ten Bells is one of the most hunted pubs in London. It’s often connected with one of the most mysterious murderers, Jack the Ripper. He is believed to have waited for his drunken victims in The Ten Bells.
